There’s nothing about fall that I don’t love! The changing leaves, the crisp air, apple cider, pumpkins, and hayrides! Some of my favorite childhood memories are around going to the fair with friends and family…riding the rides, filling up on funnel cakes, corn dogs with lots of mustard, and of course, caramel apples with nuts! Oh my, how I love the caramel apples! Especially those made with Granny Smith apples (sweet and tart) mixed with the creamy, sweet, and salty coming from the caramel and nuts – heavenly.
Nowadays I mark the first days of fall when my local garden center is loaded with mums and pansies, arriving at the grocery stores, the three-pack of caramel apples, where I have to make an effort not to eat all three in one sitting. My super feminine wrap dress is from the Banana Republic is so amazingly comfortable and in such a perfect fall palette.
This fall in addition to the usual hayrides and fall décor, I’ll be baking a host of things with the season’s best apples to include apple tarts with puff pastry, Apple Cider Donut cake, bourbon and apple cocktails, and enjoying the most beautiful sunsets of the season.
Here’s to the fall! How will you be enjoying the season?
